Penang 2015

From March 08 to March 11, hubby and I were in Penang. It was a short break for us, away from work. It was a very much relaxed trip where we spent time just roaming the state at our own leisurely time. The much excitement was when hubby took me to his own home in Kuala Kangsar on our way back.

As I am quiet lazy to jot down the day to day activities, please bear with some keywords. Yup, I am that lazy today.

MIL’s childhood place. It’s a place called Sg Bakap. Also visited her ancestors’ temple in Sg Jawi. The picture of the goddess is from that temple.

  • Took the Penang Bridge after much deliberation. The length of the bridge connecting the state to the Penang Island is 13.5km. The alternate is to take a ferry.
  • Penang is a food haven.
  • Naatukottai Chettiar temple, Thannir Malai Temple (512 steps to climb) and another Murugan temple in the same vicinity.
  • Gurney Drive
  • Gurney Plaza
  • Bukit Bendera
  • Penang Time Tunnel
  • Batu Ferringhi
  • Anjung Gurney food haven
  • Line Clear nasi kandar
  • Tanjung Bahang
  • Queen’s Road (Little India)
  • Penang Times Square
  • Him Heang Tau Sa Pneah

Reflections

Birthday
So, it’s my birthday today. Love, love and nothing but love all around me.

Started the day with wishes from hubby, N and blessings from parents. Reached office only to be hugged many times over by office family. Whatsapp, FB and phone msgs are constantly pinging. Lunch was at Setia City Mall at a restaurant called Delicious. Yummy birthday treat by some of my closest colleagues.

Don’t know what, but hubby has planned for something this evening. Let’s see what it is. *excited*

Book                                                                                                                                                                                                                           I am now reading the Red Lotus after completing One More Day.

Goodness                                                                                                                                                                                                   Inadvertently if last year and the year before gratitude was my keyword, then this year, I want to consciously make ‘goodness’ as my keyword this year. Only to see goodness in everyone and not let anyone’s temporary insanity or annoyance the cause of my irritation or anger. First and foremost, I think I am too hard on hubby. I really hope to improve on my anger control, having failed miserably in the last few years.

Life as Mother                                                                                                                                                                                          The weekends are pretty much stable. Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner is not much of an issue, now that D is bigger and could sit and play on his own. He does run to me occasionally, but that doesn’t stop me in my tracks or get annoyed with the maid. Plus, I am not that concerned about the missed sleep as well and am coming to terms using the early start to my benefit by praying, Facebooking, browsing, making breakfast, sipping coffee and finally lying down to read-before D wakes up.

Reunion                                                                                                                                                                                                 Organised a reunion for high girlfriends. This time for a smaller group. To say it was a success is an understatement. After much laughter and gossips, it was time to good bye. Nevertheless, we hope to meet more often. 23 years of friendship and counting. So yeay to us!

Snooker                                                                                                                                                                                                              Yes, I am learning to play snooker. The office is now equipped with a snooker table. And I am taking every opportunity to learn the ropes.
